From the worldwide brands he manages and the talented staff he hires to the fine dress shirts he wears, Stephen Applebaum has an unwavering commitment to quality. He is a leader, innovator, risk-taker, entrepreneur and visionary, with a track record of success that spans more than two decades.
Stephen began his career in the footwear industry at 16 years of age, working as a part-time salesman for Town Shoes. After graduating in 1981 from the Schulich School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours (BBA), he took on the role of Assistant Buyer and became heavily involved in merchandising, buying, inventory control and store operations. In 1984, he took these valuable skills to Harry Sherman and Associates where he launched his wholesale career.
In 1991, upon Mr. Sherman’s death, Stephen assumed ownership and presidency of Sherson Marketing Corp. He has since built a robust retail division that amalgamated with Sherson Marketing Corporation in 2006 to form Sherson Group. Stephen is an aggressive yet compassionate business player. He pushes his personal limits daily and demands the same of his people – with a sense of humour, situation permitting. |
